24/11/2023

We would like to invite you on November 28, 2023 (Tuesday), at 6:00 pm, for a guided tour of the exhibition "Forgotten Master. The work of Joseph Hecht". Guaranteed unforgettable aesthetic experience in good company. Magdalena Furmanik-Kowalska, PhD, art historian and manager of our foundation, will talk about the artist's paintings, sculpture and graphics.

Below are photo reports from selected meetings held in October and November, as well as from art workshops organized in cooperation with the Magazyn Sztuk of the Ochota Cultural Center.

Art Modern Foundation

At the centre of foundation interest are modernist artists active between 1900 and 1970, in particular artists from the circle of the Ecole de Paris: Elie Nadelman, Mela Muter, Leopold Gottlieb, Józef Hecht, Henryk Hayden, Louis Marcoussis, Henryk Berlewi, Jankiel Adler, Hel Enri.

Many of them were born and educated in Warsaw's intellectual environment. They were outstanding figures whose works received critical acclaim in Paris while being often overlooked in their homeland for historical and political reasons.

Art Modern Foundation

We sift through domestic and foreign archives for unknown facts about the artists' lives, meet with descendants or other relatives, compare artists' work with that of others, and create documentation. This results in exhibitions, publications, workshops, and other cultural events.

If you have access to artworks or materials on École de Paris artists, please do not hesitate to contact our Foundation!
