2nd Festival “The Chmielewskis and Modern Sculpture”

25 - 27 September 2025

Programme

25 September
6 pm – Opening of the exhibition “Inclusivity of Space. The Art of Zbigniew Makowski”

Zbigniew Makowski built his compositions by weaving together words and images, layering symbolic meanings and creating magical, immersive spaces that invite viewers to step inside his world. The inclusive spirit of these works inspired the concept of the exhibition, which is designed to allow blind and visually impaired visitors to experience it on equal footing with others. Alongside Makowski’s paintings, the display features tactile graphics based on his works, objects from his studio, and Lidia Chmielewska’s reliefs used as tactile aids for learning perspective.
The exhibition runs until 25 November 2025.

In reference to Lidia Chmielewska’s love of music—she often played the piano in her studio—the opening will feature musical improvisations and Bach’s Concerto No. 1 in F Major in an arrangement for:
Maria Sławek – violin and Marcin Zdunik – cello.
